Fa to Flores

Scupltural Work

Fa to Flores (Fa - the cantonese word for flowers, and Flores - the Latin word for Flowers)

This project combines my British identity to my Chinese one, creatively. Previously, Cinderlily signifies the most treasured moments I experienced with my Mother and the heartwarming memories that are preserved since my young self. However, this moss land with dying flowers signifying dying characters from my fantasy symbolises the fading of happy memories I experience with my mother. As I grow older and have been living in the UK alone, this geographical distance has made a personal distance between us. The moss land, and curatoration of the flowers reflects a sense of ‘left potential’, unwatered.
